Motorcycle race track conversion & racing motorcycle tuning

The difference between a road motorcycle and a real racing bike is enormous. If you want to be fast and safe on the racetrack, there's no way around a professional conversion. At ASD Group – Motors & Performance in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, we transform standard machines into precision track tools.

Performance through targeted track bike conversions

Why is a racing motorcycle conversion so important for fun and success on the racetrack? Production motorcycles are always a compromise between comfort, emission standards and everyday durability. On the racetrack, however, other values count: weight reduction, lean angle and peak performance. Through targeted track bike conversions, we remove unnecessary ballast (lights, mirrors, catalytic converter) and optimise the geometry.

Safety is a key consideration: racing fairings with a closed oil sump are mandatory on many tracks to prevent oil from spilling onto the asphalt in the event of engine failure. Crash pads and engine cover protectors protect your bike from expensive total damage in the event of a slip. We will advise you in detail on which modifications will bring the greatest benefit for your level and budget.

Chassis and ergonomics

Converting your motorbike for the racetrack

Performance isn't everything. If you're converting your motorcycle for the racetrack, you should first invest in the chassis and seating position. A standard chassis quickly reaches its limits with slicks and hard riding – it pumps and loses its line. We install components that offer reserves and adjust them precisely to your rider weight (negative spring travel, rebound and compression).

Ergonomics are just as important: you can only ride fast if you are sitting in a relaxed position. We position the handlebars and footrests so that you have maximum feel for the front wheel and can move freely on the bike. This reduces fatigue (arm pump) and makes you faster and safer over distance.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Can I still drive on the road with a race track conversion?

As a rule, consistent modifications (removal of lights, mirrors, ABS, catalytic converter) will invalidate the vehicle's roadworthiness certificate. However, there are "light modifications" that remain compliant with registration requirements. We would be happy to advise you on the options available.

How much does a complete race track conversion cost?

The budget ranges from approximately €1,500 for a basic conversion (fairing, crash pads, steel braided brake lines) to well over €10,000 for a high-end build with engine tuning and telemetry. We will provide you with a customised quote based on your requirements.

Can you also convert my existing motorbike?

Yes, you can bring your own road motorcycle to us and we will convert it. Alternatively, we can also source a suitable base vehicle for you.

Can you remove the ABS completely?

Yes, for pure racing motorcycles, we often remove the ABS module completely or replace it with emulators to save weight and achieve a purer braking feel. We also install direct brake lines.

How long will the renovation take?

That depends on the availability of parts and the scope of work involved. Winter is our peak season for conversions. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks so that your bike is ready in time for the start of the season.
